Hikaru

Hikaru is a degu. She is about three years old. She is really independent, playful, and outgoing. She likes to look out the window, too. She loves lettuce and carrots. www.degus.org is a good site if you are curious about degus!

Rocco

This is Rocco; he is a Caribbean land hermit crab. He was adopted a couple months ago from Petco, along with his brother Herman. I guess Petco had too many hermies! Rocco's best friend is Rainbow, our oldest crab. He loves to climb but sometimes falls behind the climbing wall. His favorite food is broccoli!

Fiona

Fiona is almost a year old and is a French angora rabbit. She loves playing outside, cuddling, and playing tag. Her favorite food is dandelions!

Rocky

Rocky is our four year old dachshund. He really likes socks. And bones. Going for walks. Playing with other dogs. And belly rubs.

And he doesn't like squirrels.

And he is really good at getting into mischief.

Welcome To The Zoo

At this moment, the Poughkeepsie Zoo consists of three dogs, four rabbits, one degu, three land hermit crabs, two marine hermit crabs, one cane toad, one African dwarf frog, one crested gecko, one freshwater clam, many aquatic snails, and a variety of freshwater and marine fish.

Today.

That could change tomorrow.

Or in an hour.

We never can tell.
